  • Wine soda and Unicum
Hungarian wine soda is a uniquely different thing than those spritzers bought in cans. It has no added sugar and is a very light refreshing taste. Unicum is a digestive that contains 40 herbs and spices and is the most popular drink in Hungary. Learn the history behind the bittersweet brew as you imbibe.
  • Additional Wine Tasting - "Wine of Kings, King of Wines"
We all enjoy the Tokaj dessert wine . This region is noted for its sweet wines made from grapes affected by noble rot, a style of wine which has a long history in this region. The "nectar" coming from the grapes of Tokaj is also mentioned in the national anthem of Hungary. Tokaji wine was also served at the Versailles Court, where it became known under the name of Tokay. Delighted with the precious beverage, Louis XIV declared it "Vinum Regum, Rex Vinorum" ("Wine of Kings, King of Wines").

"As Hungarians we're very proud of our culinary diversity. Whilst travelling abroad, I tried to recreate my favourite dishes from home to share with my friends, but there was always something missing. I came to realise that it was of course, the original ingredients from my homeland and a little pinch of Budapest. So now that I have returned, I'm lucky enough to show you my city and help you discover the real quality food that you can't find anywhere else."

Budapest is now one of the most popular destinations of Central Europe, where everyone can find something interesting to do, to see, or to eat. Your guide will give you many local tips about visiting the city to help you feel at home.

We have chosen the downtown area of Budapest because it has a great collection of restaurants and bars tucked amid the historical buildings. This district is famous for its intercultural community shared by people of different religions and all ages. After this tour, guests gain a strong understanding of Hungarian food culture and how it reflects the diverse nature of our unique history.

Children are more than welcome to our tour and it's free for any child 2 years or under! We have had many families attend from all over the world and everyone enjoyed the tour.

We provide enough food to all our customers to suffice as a full meal. Trust us, you will not need to go to a restaurant after the food tour!

Where do I add my discount voucher?
I would like to take your tour but it is already fully booked. Is there a way I can do the tour?

Our tours are often sold out very quickly. If the date you requested is not available, please do not hesitate to email us and we can see if there is anything we can do. We cannot promise but we will try our best to sort something out for you.

Is there a lot of walking?

To join our Secret Food Tour, you must wear comfortable shoes. There will be approximately one hour of walking, but it's not too difficult and there are no hills or stairs. If you walk slowly, then our guide will walk slowly as well.

All of our vouchers expire one year from the date of purchase.

Unfortunately, the weather is unpredictable in Budapest. We do not issue refunds as per our terms and conditions. We also inform you that we never cancel a booking even if we have only 2 people! However we do reserve the right to cancel the tour if we feel the weather is extreme, and we cannot run the tour due to this for more info see our Terms and Conditions: https://www.secrettours.com/terms-and-conditions/

Can I pay the tour in cash?

Why do we need to pay for booking fee?

The booking fee that you have to pay is up to our ticket provider and we can't change it. All our clients need to pay for it upon booking. The booking fee charged contributes to the cost of the ticketing system to provide an excellent service to our customers.

Foreign Transaction Fees

A few banks have charged their customer an extra fee while booking with us (this isn't the booking fee but another fee added by the bank). We think this is unfair, if this happens let us know by showing us in your bank statement and we will refund this fee as a gesture of good will.
